In spring 2024, the separate collection of biowaste will be extended to properties with 1–4 dwellings in urban areas with more than 10,000 inhabitants. If you have a composter, then there is no need for a biowaste bin. If you compost your biowaste, remember to register with the waste management authority’s composting register. If you share a bin with your neighbour, please report this on the separate notification form for jointly owned containers.

Under the Finnish Waste Act (646/2011), all properties used for residential or leisure activities must join a municipal waste management system.

Waste containers wear out in use and, especially in severe frosts, an old container can crack. We always deal with container breakages on a case-by-case basis. For more information, please contact our customer service.

Emptying dates may vary. This is influenced by, among other things, transport schedules and public holidays. Weather conditions also affect the emptying intervals. Our driver will leave a note in your mailbox if any of the above affects the emptying of your container.

The front of the container must be accessible. The property owner is responsible for snow clearing and sanding the road and yard to ensure the safe removal of waste containers.
